  1. Great article on the run down of pure onsite (NAS / tape) vs offsite public cloud. But is there a third way?

    Yes. I actually think that a blend of the two is required. Hybrid backup gives you the benefits of local storage – time to boot, less demand on the network (the ability to schedule offsite duplication runs for overnight – for example) but then the flexibility of cloud.

    With the private cloud DR / BC solution they are able to have 100% peace of mind that their data sits within a geography of their choosing.
